II.  Piping Accessories and Equipment

6. Fittings

Fittings are essential in creating the piping system through which liquids, gases or steam flow.  Fittings can change the direction and volume of flow of the medium. There are many various types of fittings available for both piping and tubular systems.  Capex can supply your requirements for either system.  The two most commonly used piping system fittings are as below:

Type 1
Metals: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel 300 Series,  Chrome Moly Grades, Nickel Alloys, Super Alloys.

Forged steel fittings are produced in accordance with ANSI/ASME specifications B16.11 - Forged Fittings, Socket weld  and Threaded.
Threaded fittings have tapered threads in accordance with ANSI B1.20.1.

Class 2000 Threaded  90° elbows, 45° elbows, tees and crosses. Sizes NPS 1/8” to NPS 4”.

Class 3000 Threaded or Socket  weld 90° elbows,
45° elbows, tees, crosses, street elbows, laterals,
full and half couplings, reducing couplings and Pipe caps.  Size NPS 1/8” to NPS 4”.

Class 6000 same product range as for class 3000.

Socket weld Reducing Inserts

Reducing inserts enable the outlets of

Socket weld fittings to be reduced to a
smaller size quickly and economically.

High Pressure Plugs and Bushings

High Pressure plugs and bushings satisfy
the requirements of pressure classes
 2000, 3000 and 6000.

Forged fittings are manufactured from forgings or bars meeting the chemical, mechanical and melting practice requirements of the particular metal.  All forged steel fittings are normalized. Normalizing refines the grain structure which enhances corrosion resistance, weldability and machinability.  The control of this critical heat treating process is maintained through careful monitoring of  in-house heat treating furnaces.

Type 2

Butt weld

heavier walls to meet customer’s special  requirements.
            welded with welds ultrasonically tested
