II. Piping Accessories and Equipment
6. Fittings
Fittings are essential in creating the piping
system through which liquids, gases or steam flow. Fittings can change
the direction and volume of flow of the medium. There are many various
types of fittings available for both piping and tubular systems.
Capex can supply your requirements for either system. The two most
commonly used piping system fittings are as below:
Type 1
Forged steel fittings are produced in accordance
with ANSI/ASME specifications B16.11 - Forged Fittings, Socket weld
and Threaded.

Forged fittings are manufactured from forgings or bars meeting the chemical, mechanical and melting practice requirements of the particular metal. All forged steel fittings are normalized. Normalizing refines the grain structure which enhances corrosion resistance, weldability and machinability. The control of this critical heat treating process is maintained through careful monitoring of in-house heat treating furnaces.
